Our Crown and Bridge Procedure

Custom crown & bridge dental lab service in Rexburg, ID

Preparation

The dentist removes the damaged tooth structure and takes an impression, which is sent to the lab, either physically or digitally along with all necessary photos.

Production

1.

Design

After receiving the impression the lab will produce models from which we can create your restoration. Physical models are scanned and transformed into a digital 3D form on which, using special CAD software, we design a custom crown that will fit seamlessly. We take great care to make sure all biological features are respected, like bite and gum tissue.

2.

Milling

After the design is complete we send the CAM file to our in-house milling department where we have complete control over production. Using a 5-axis mill we are able to make certain that each feature is produced accurately including occlusion and margin fit.

3.

Finish

Our skilled technicians will fit your milled restoration to the model. We start by ensuring fit to the die and a solid model, followed by adjusting the margins to a fine finish. Finally, we replicate the shade through careful application of ceramic stains that will help the restoration blend with the patient’s existing dentition, and fire this in an oven creating the finished, glazed crown. After cooling each crown is thoroughly cleaned and polished for delivery.

Why Choose Upper Valley Dental Laboratory?

  • Our lithium disilicate anterior crowns and veneers are made from the highest quality materials that we cut back and layer for exceptional esthetics. Every case is evaluated and matched to the optimum material for the right translucency and value (brightness). Each restoration is then finished by silanating and etching for a superior bond strength.

  • We work with only the latest and most technologically advanced zirconium materials for our full-contour zirconia crowns and bridges.

  • We are one of few labs that still produce pfm restorations. Our technicians were trained early in their careers on pfm’s, and although other materials have taken over the majority share of dental restorations, pfm crowns and bridges are still in demand for long-span bridges, or to better match older anterior restorations.
